What is the Heartbleed bug?
Since OpenSSL is the most popular open source cryptographic library and TLS, two thirds of Internet websites were affected by Heartbleed, including sites such as social media, banks, hobby sites, company websites, etc. This bug allows hackers to access any data you are transmitting to a site, such as your social security number, logins and/or passwords. The Heartbleed bug, a vulnerability in the OpenSSL cyrpotgraphic software library, affected most of the Internet and its underlying infrastructure this week, particularly compromising the secret keys used to identify names and passwords of users and sensitive information such as email contents. Fixed OpenSSL has been released and deployed to patch this bug.
